Three months before its opening, discover the future four-star hotel of Besse (Puy-de-Dôme)
Painters, carpenters, heating engineers, and within a few landscaping days ... The site of the Mildiss hotel, in Besse, is currently a real anthill. Taking advantage of the favorable conditions of winter, the building is now out of the air and out of water and nothing seems to be able to slow down the work of this future four-star hotel, which should open its doors at the beginning of July. An establishment that is complementary to the current offer in terms of hospitality in the Sancy, since the latter had so far only one hotel in this category, Mont-Dore.
A "minimalist" building integrated into the landscape
Located in the heart of a clearing in the village of Serre-Bas, a few hundred meters from the village of Besse via a GR, the future hotel was designed by Jean-Jacques Erragne to integrate the landscape. Along with the completion of the interior work, a major landscaping project will be undertaken for the meadow to resume its rights around the hotel. "The idea is that it is the most discreet possible," insists Sébastien Bertrank, one of the three main carriers of the project, with Xavier Verdy and Pierre Verdier.
In the shape of an ellipse, to follow the original shape of the ground, with its three large boxes, a nod to the three medieval doors of Besse, it mixes the mineral and the wood. "A cladding wood cladding will be installed to qualify the presence of concrete," says Pierre Verdier. Seen from the sky, some see a leaf when others think rather of a rugby ball.
A 32-room hotel and a 60-seat restaurant
The establishment is composed of 32 rooms, all on the ground floor overlooking the meadow: 26 double rooms, four family rooms, and two accessible to people with reduced mobility. They are dressed in four different woods, with very "natural" colors but which vary according to the rooms, so that almost all are unique.
On the east side, a 60-seat restaurant, typical of bistronomy, whose menu will be branded by Michelin-starred chef Gilles Reinhardt. "We did not choose gastronomy because we wanted this notion of accessibility. We want to redo the traditional sublimate, "says Sebastien Bertrank.
Spaces to welcome companies and sportsmen
In addition to the usual tourist clientele, Mildiss is also aimed at companies and high-level sports teams. To welcome them at best are provided a wellness area of 200 m² (sauna, steam room, jacuzzi ...) and a seminar area mixing plenary room and commission.
"We thought of something functional, down to the smallest detail. We focus on hospitality, service, quality and personalization. Tell us what you want and what you need, we will offer you a program knowing that here, there is plenty to do »
SÉBASTIEN BERTRANK (Project leader)
These different audiences are not meant to cross each other, thanks to skilfully partitioned spaces, between corridors and wider spaces. "We really have personalized spaces where people can be independent and can have a drink, a coffee, without running to the other end of the hotel. "
